Photography events to look out for

If you are interested in photography and happen to be in London or Munich this weekend, you might want to drop by at this year’s Vision09 event or Photoshop Convention.

The Vision09 taking place on November 27, 2009 at London’s Business Design Center is an annual event giving aspiring and early career photographers the chance to learn from the experts. Now in its 11th year, the Vision features different talks and seminars and gives visitors the chance to check up on many of the industry’s leading manufacturers, who will be showcasing their latest products at the exhibition.

According to the official website www.bjp-online.com/vision guest speakers include the likes of wildlife photographer Steve Bloom and renowned documentary photographer Eugene Richards.

If you’d rather focus on your Photoshop skills, you can do so at the third edition of the annual Photoshop Convention, which takes place from November 26-27, 2009 at the Alte Kongresshalle in the city center of Munich and offers Photoshop fans an interesting professional platform.

The congress for professional Photoshop users is organized by Macromedia and cooperation partner Adobe Systems and is directed at media designers, illustrators, digital photographers and pre-press experts.

Organisers say the convention wants to offer visitors a special forum for knowledge transfer, professional exchange and efficient networking.

Guest speakers include such renowned names as Russell Brown, Uli Staiger, Calvin Hollywood, Maike Jarsetz and Bert Monroy, who will address creative as well as technical topics in more than 40 talks. Visitors can choose their individual program from four parallel panels and get the chance to participate in optional hands-on workshops after the congress.

Program highlights range from a get-together of visitors, speakers and exhibitors to live on-site photo shoots and a Photoshop Help Station for media law issues. Tickets for this year’s Photoshop convention are available from EUR 399,-.
