The deadline for Red Bull Illume, the world's premier action and adventure sports photography competition, is fast approaching. Amateur and professional photographers are invited to enter their thrilling photos via this website before February 28, 2010.
 
Red Bull Illume 2010 is attracting a huge amount of entries from the freesports photography scene. To date, over 5,000 images have been submitted by nearly 2,500 photographers.

Faced with the difficult task of choosing the winning images, over thirty jurors from renowned media outlets in 14 different countries have already been confirmed to be part of the judging panel. They include photo editors from Stern View (GER), Outside (USA), Professional Photographer (UK), USA Today (USA), Sportweek (ITA) and Thomson Reuters (CAN).

Prizes include a Leica S2 camera and lenses to the value of €30,000 for the overall winner. Entry is free and copyrights for the submitted images remain with the photographer.
 
The ten categories for the 2010 Image Quest are culture, playground, energy, spirit, close up, wings, SanDisk sequence, new creativity, experimental and illumination.
