Kit for New Creativity Category? Hasselblad's New H4D-60 Camera

Hasselblad have recently launched their new H4D high end camera series which could be a good choice to capture the detail needed for Red Bull Illume's new creativity, close up and illumination categories.

The camera's medium format and 60MP resolution, according to Hasselblad, "marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of medium format DSLRs."

The Swedish-based firm, most famous for its camera's use on the Apollo moon missions, say their True Focus technology helps solve the problem of auto-focusing on objects outside of the centre of the image.

Without multi-point auto-focus functions, photographers must lock the focus on the subject and then re-compose the image. However the movement of the camera in these instances can cause focus error, especially over shorter distances.

While many DSLRs have multi-point AF sensors, Hasselbald say their Absolute Position Lock (APL) processor, part of the True Focus feature, moves the technology up a level.

The APL processor logs camera movement during re-composition and readjusts the lens' focus automatically.
