From as early as I can remember, I have had a passion for adventure, especially boating. Some of my earliest memories are of fishing on a raft with my dad on the Selway River.
I bought my first whitewater kayak at the age of 12. I knew what I wanted in life. I bought my first SLR camera seven years ago. I was traveling around the world, kayaking in places such as Alaska, British Columbia, Nepal and Southeast Asia – I just had to document the incredible things I was seeing.
It was on those trips I started seriously studying the art of photography. I quickly found that not only did I enjoy photographing action sports and adventures, my friends and family also came into the focus of my lens. Photography for me is a vehicle that I use to combine the things that I love most in my life: adventure, outdoors, friends and family.
I have been traveling around the world for the past year, documenting the efforts of some of my friends pushing the limits of kayaking, and doing portrait work in between trips.
