I grew up in Lander, Wyoming at the base of the Wind River mountains. I've been a fan of adventure photography since before I was an active participant; as a child I'd be waiting for the new ski magazines to hit the racks on the first Wednesday of every month.
My own photographic career began in college after an internship went awry and I thought a photo degree would at least salvage my college career with an interesting degree. I've been hooked ever since.
I struggle with balancing the desire to shoot the raw emotion and experience of an endeavor with placing a tiny human in a grander landscape to give a sense of place and beauty. I prefer to shoot as a participant in the story and am less concerned with the sport than the people I'm playing with.
Currently based in Salt Lake City, Utah with my wife and son, I'm a freelancer that shoots for anyone that will let me.
