I started off in photography in the year 2004. I was running a small t-shirt label and needed photos for marketing purposes. The local skate photographer was too busy, so I thought I'd give it a try myself and bought my first DSLR in 2005.
First I was just messing about with friends during our skate sessions, but soon some of the guys got sponsored and magazines were interested in my photos. I loved seeing the photos in print, it really felt amazing having them published.
I really didn't plan a career in photography. In fact, I would never have thought it would take me this far. Skate photography has been the initial spark, and now I am working in editorial, lifestyle, commercial and all kinds of different photography.
My career as a clothing label owner ended in 2012, and since then I have been lucky enough to be working as a full-time photographer. There's still a lot I want to learn in photography, and I'm grateful to be able to pursue this path everyday.
