Sao Paulo is to host a Red Bull Photography workshop at the end of May. The event will see 15 invited photographers from Latin America get up to speed on the latest trends and techniques from seasoned pros such as Rutger Pauw and Marcelo Maragni.
Subjects covered will include event and athlete shoots, post production and techniques like lightpainting and high speed flash sync.
Also contributing will be surfing photographer Agustin Muñoz, who is to give a masterclass on underwater photography.
The five-day workshop is split between two groups — talent-spotted photographers in need of some nurturing and established action-sport photographers looking to develop their skills. The first few days will be spent with the younger photographers, dealing with subjects like workflow efficiency and the needs of magazines and brands.
In the second part the more experienced Red Bull photographers will learn subjects in more detail such as advanced re-touching, creative lighting and in depth still image production.
The teams will get the chance to work with Red Bull athletes such as the skateboarders Milton Martinez, Spiro Razis and volleyball player Alison Cerutti.
Both teams of photographers will also work with the new Pocket Wizard Plus III and underwater gear from AquaTech.
The workshop is designed to bring photographers together to hopefully ensure an even higher standard in action sports photography.
