I'm the editor of Digital Camera World / www.digitalcamerworld.com, a leading photography website that covers all aspects of photography and videography – from choosing your kit to getting killer shots. I started working in the photographic industry in 2014, shooting for clients as diverse as Aston Martin Racing, Olympus and L'Oréal. Today my greatest love is portraiture, but there are few things as exciting as capturing spectacular sports shots!
Photography has always been a huge part of my life, having started as a model before becoming a photographer in my own right. I carry a camera everywhere I go (including the supermarket!) and photography is the way in which I see, explore and interact with the world around me.
Great adventure and action shots are often about "the moment", but some of the greatest shots are those that capture "the moment after the moment". The elation of a victory, the weight of a defeat, the quiet calm after an adrenaline dump… the human moments speak to us as much as the sporting triumphs themselves.
In terms of tricks and tips… always have your eyes open and your radar turned on. The reaction of a jubilant spectator may be every bit as magical as the celebration of the athlete. Look for the narrative, not just the action, whether that's the awe of the crowd or the awesome nature around them. And trust your instincts! No-one can see the athletes, the fans, or the scope and scale of the setting like you can – share your view and perspective with the world.
