I work as an editor for the Explore and Surfers magazine at the Pulse Publishing company. In my free time I like to skate, surf, hike, teach yoga, and work on topics around sustainability. All of these topics are also covered in the Explore magazine. As an outdoor magazine, the focus is on action sports, living in nature, traveling and going on adventures. The magazine takes us to the most beautiful places on the planet, informs us about outdoor themes and takes us on journeys. Explore stands for a sustainable active lifestyle in harmony with nature, integrating environmental protection and sustainability.
Photography for me represents a tool to visually underline stories and to dive even deeper into what is happening. Images can provide different perspectives and views that your own eyes might not have seen.
For me, a great adventure and action sports image must have three elements: a wow effect, natural colors, and a composition that captivates the viewer of the image. In addition, I want it to take me on an adventure, let me daydream and to subtly feel the adrenaline of the action.
As a tip and trick, I would just like to say that simply being outside and experiencing the adventures yourself can bring out the most amazing images. In previous cooperation with photographers, a certain day, a certain hour was always agreed upon, but I feel that planning the magic is almost impossible. Get out there, be present and let your eyes do the magic through the camera!
“You look at the picture and that moment tells a story that catches your attention. An image that leaves a lasting imprint on the memory, transmitting a subtle adrenaline from the captured moment.” - Zoe Levit
