I bought my first DSLR when I started college at 19. After a couple weeks using my Nikon D90, I got really bored and frustrated because I couldn’t find anything special about my images and the entire process of taking them.
After I graduated from UCSB, I moved back to Austria where I am from originally. I was born and raised in Vienna, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I took a job at a media production company and got the opportunity to travel the world and visit countries such as Qatar, Kuwait, Spain and Nicaragua. By chance, I brought my old D90, which I hadn’t used for years. After productions, I discovered night photography, which fascinated me because the extended exposure time forced me to plan and reflect upon my shots.
Shortly after, I bought a cheap 50mm, 1.8 prime lens, started shooting in RAW and self-taught myself Lightroom through hundreds of YouTube tutorials. This and my dedication elevated my photography to the next level. Together with my passion for surfing and traveling I got hooked on discovering and telling gripping stories from interesting angles. I try to learn and improve every day by shooting and thinking about interesting concepts and projects. Most of all, I try to enjoy every day as much as possible by accepting the gift of life and love.
