Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, I grew a passion for outdoor adventure while learning to snowboard, bike and whitewater kayak. I moved out west to British Columbia for university, but really it was to play more outside. While studying my degree in tourism, I took a black and white film photography course and learned the basics of photography and began to take photos of my outdoor pursuits.
Revelstoke Mountain Resort was opening up the year I graduated from school - and I knew what I had to do whatever it took to move to this beautiful little mountain town! I was hired by the railway in Revelstoke as a train conductor, and then eventually as a locomotive engineer for the following 8 years. All during this time, I continued with my new passion for photography and learned to apply my skills professionally, taking photos for Revelstoke Tourism along with establishing the photo program at Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing. Eventually my passion for photography eclipsed my work, I quit the railway, and I began shooting full time.
These days, I am privileged to work with some of the best athletes in the world, and they trust me to put an artistic spin on the images I create. I love using new technology and techniques to help present never-seen-before perspectives of the activity that I love to shoot. It's not uncommon for me to be using a drone, an underwater housing or an infrared filter to create a unique image.
