Enric Gener (1982, Ciutadella de Menorca) was born in a small island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea but studied Art and Design in Barcelona, where he also got into photography. He began working as a motion grapher and designer in some advertising agencies and creative studios until he finally left his permanent position in Madrid to embark on 27MM, his underwater photographic project.
He changed his lifestyle, bought a camera and escaped from the city keep working as a freelance but now, remotely. That would bring him closer to that sea that he carries in his blood and that attracts him so much. And because he never had the need to use photography as a commercial purpose, this allowed him to be completely free to find his workflow and his own style. This passion has also allowed him to travel through that magical salty world that has taken him from the Mediterranean Sea to the Pacific Ocean, through the Sea of Cortez, the Atlantic Ocean, the Red Sea or the Tasman Sea among others.
His work is an iconography of his relationship with the sea. Formally trying to be simple and clean, without overfilling the frame with too many elements, just taking the essentials that push you to feel the experience, to be under the surface.
