I first picked up a camera at age 14 and fell in love with photography. I practice shooting sports like Motorcross and, for fun, would shoot the World Rally Champs when it came to New Zealand once a year. It was on film back then so it was always so exciting to get the pictures back from the photo lab to see what pics I got. A great way to develop skills as a teenager. I love creating; my whole career has been in the image industry. After training in professional photography, the early days saw me working at one of New Zealand’s top audio/visual production companies creating, developing and producing product launches for New Zealand’s largest corporations - using various types of multi-media from theatrical lighting, to video/slide projection and interactive graphics, to set design and the most fun, pyrotechnics. Followed by a stint in the television industry.
I soon had this desire to run my own photography business; I now work with clients and agencies on projects that include advertising, portraiture, people, lifestyle, sport and extreme sports.
I have been lucky to shoot many of the top athletes from around New Zealand, as well as the world, and I’ve worked in environments with snow, dirt, mountains, oceans and even in studios.
I spend my spare time mountain biking, surfing, snowboarding, Foiling, kitesurfing and maintaining some local mountain bike trails in the famous Whakarewarewa Forest in Rotorua, New Zealand.
It's a busy life.
