When would you usually whip out the smartphone?
“It’s the same approach I use to shoot with my DSLR’s. I’m trying to create the most interesting or engaging photo I can make. I usually whip out the smartphone when I don’t have any other cameras. Sometimes I shoot with it even when I do have a DSLR.”
Do you think the convenience of mobile cameras outweighs its limitations?
“Sure. In fact, I like working with the limitations. It pushes me to move around a bit more and be more creative to work around the limitations.”
What’s the future of mobile photography?
“I think mobile photography has allowed more people to find their creative selves. It’s great. With the advancement in technology in mobile phones, images will just keep getting better and I think even professionals will be more likely to shoot with them more often.”
You’re pretty popular on Instagram...
“I think it is a great way to share your work, especially unpublished gems that photographers like. Instagram is basically your own distribution channel.”
Any tips to shoot better on mobile?
“I would use the same basic principals of shooting normal photography.”
Will we be seeing your images in Red Bull Illume this year?
