First off, tell us about the skateboard?
I’ve always loved skateboarding. When I was a kid, I used to collect plenty of skateboarding magazines, so it was just a matter of time before my passion for art lead me to skateboard photography. It was perfect, because I liked both activities! I started with my film camera, a Nikon FM3a that I still have today.
Looks like you have a lot more today, tell us about it.
I’ve had several cameras over the years, and I’m stoked to start shooting with Sony gear. The A7r II offers a lot of possibilities when it comes to shooting and I’m curious to see how mirrorless bodies compare to other cameras I’ve been using over the years. I also like to use my smartphone every once in a while. Depending on the situation I’ll use broncolor lights, and I always carry a few cans of Red Bull.
Which lens do you use most right now?
My favorite lens is probably the Sony 85mm f/1.4 – it’s just a really fast, high quality portrait lens.
Why so many camera bodies?
Well, I’ve got the two main ones with different lens setups in order to be flexible and not waste time during a shoot. I’ve also recently started carrying a Sony RX10 II as a backup camera.
